New Year… New adventures

New Year.... New Adventures!

It’s been one heck of a year. 2017 had to be my best year yet. There has been so many wonderful changes. It’s not exactly what I imagined but it’s not bad either. This new year marks the one year since I officially started this blog.

The biggest thing I have to admit that I’ve learnt from 2017 was to drop my expectations and really embrace the unexpected. That can be both scary and exciting. With so many changes and more to come, I’m embracing 2018 with both arms wide open. And, I got a lot to do.

The best of 2017

Some really amazing things happened to me last year. I have to be grateful for losing weight. Yep, I lost more than 30 pounds last year and inches off my body. I went from a size 16 to a sizes 8-10.

I’m not done yet. My goal is to lose another 20 lbs. But the truth is, I’ve been having a hard time fighting off craving in the last 6 months. I’m literally trying to curve my cravings again to what it was last January. It hasn’t been easy but starting today, I’m jumping back into action. It’s been great making changes to my diet as well as overall health.

I also FINALLY got a job (part time) where I can work remotely. The company is called Lifebushido, we provide virtual assistance to top real estate agents in the u.s. I’m currently working on two teams. Right now, the hours aren’t as much which affects the pay. However, I’m looking to change that overtime. I have been very happy working and being productive again.

The greatest thing that I’ve learnt in 2017 would be self improvement. I started meditating this year. I can’t tell you the mental payoff from that. I’m not as stressed, worried or anxious as I used to be. I focused on identifying my issues and fixing and/ improving them. I’m not nervous anymore or as fearful either. I can focus and remember much more than I could before. It’s kind of a blessing in disguise. I wouldn’t trade it for all the money in the world.

The road not traveled

As you can see, last year was a year for breakthroughs. However, there were many things that I didn’t accomplish. I didn’t get to my target weight or make any monthly income from my blog. Or get to move out like I wanted to or start school to finish up my degree.

I never got to travel as much as I wanted to. There were places locally and in the Caribbean that I wanted to see. However, seeing that I only begun my part time remote job in September, I wasn’t expecting that much change. I had to accept that certain travel plans would get push backed.

New Year Plans

Now that I’ve had sometime to really get into my job, things are changing. Travel plans are back on the table and I’ll share more on that as the new year progresses. As with many other plans that may or may not get done. That’s the thing about my 2017 journey. I’ve learnt to make peace with change and plans changing. I often think it’s for the best then move on and make new plans.

Life can throw us many curve balls. As the quote says, “Never let the fear of striking out, keep you from playing the game”. So I’m not about to be discourage because somethings hasn’t worked out. I’m not afraid of trying or most importantly, failing anymore. It’s all a part of the journey of life.

Wherever my path will lead, I’m just really happy to take you on it with me. This blog has been the best part of my year. What I’ve learned from it and myself is priceless. So as we step into 2018 and begin the new year, let’s begin it the same way we ended 2017. With a huge bang as a force to be reckon with.
